Hello from the virtual world!

I am a Ph.D. student in Education Policy Studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, dedicated to advancing educational equity—particularly in Southeast Asia. My research explores innovative methods for collecting both quantitative and qualitative data, with a strong emphasis on applying causal inference techniques to better understand persistent disparities in the region.

My primary geographic focus is on the countries of former Indochina—Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia—as well as broader Confucian Heritage Culture (CHC) contexts, including China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and related societies. I am also interested in regional inequalities and the experiences of immigrants and refugees from these areas who seek new opportunities abroad. If our research interests align, I’d love to connect. Please feel free to reach out at tppham [at] wisc [dot] edu.

But first—let’s listen to some music
